The Pat & Press Method
At Herbelara, we believe skincare should never feel rushed, harsh, or disconnected. Our products are designed not only to support changing skin, but to invite a moment of calm in your day.
That's why we recommend a simple, gentle way of applying our oils:
Instead of rubbing products quickly into the skin, we encourage you to apply them using slow, gentle pressing movements. Just a few drops, warmed between your hands, then softly pressed into the skin. It's a small difference, but it changes everything.

Why Pat & Press?
Works with your skin, not against it
Rubbing can create friction and move product around the surface. Pressing allows the product to stay where it's needed, supporting a more even, comfortable absorption.
Supports the skin barrier
As skin changes, especially during midlife, it can become drier, more sensitive, and easily disrupted. Gentle application helps protect and respect the skin's natural barrier.
Enhances the sensory experience
Taking a moment to slow down, breathe, and press the oil into your skin turns a routine into something more restorative and grounding.
Encourages a moment of calm
The combination of warmth, scent, and slow touch can help the body soften and unwind, something many of us don't realise we need until we pause.
How to use the Pat & Press Method
- Dispense a small amount of oil into your palms
- Gently warm it between your hands
- Slowly breathe in the scent of the herbs, hold for a count of 4, slowly release for a count of 4.
- Calmly pat & press the product into your skin using soft, steady movements
- Allow a moment before continuing
There's no need to rush. Let your skin and your system relax.

Where it came from
The Pat & Press Method wasn't created in a lab. It came from my experience as a holistic therapist. Through years of working with gentle, body-based approaches, I saw how powerful slow, mindful touch can be, not just for the body, but for the nervous system as a whole.
At the same time, I noticed how many women, especially in midlife, were struggling with skin that felt different. Looser. Drier. More sensitive. Less predictable. Rubbing products in quickly didn't seem to support that change. But when I began applying oils more slowly, pressing rather than rubbing, something shifted.
The skin responded differently. And so did the person. It became less about "putting something on" and more about allowing a moment of care.
The Pat & Press Method grew from that. Simple. Gentle. Intentional.
A small moment, every day. We don't always need more products. Sometimes, we just need a different way of using them.
The Pat & Press Method is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your skin, and take a brief pause in your day. Because skincare can be more than a routine. It can be a moment of reset.
